Magnolia is Really Part of Seattle...

Face it, we pay a lot of taxes and get little attention from city hall on key issues like crime, education and land use. Let's use this forum to exchange ideas on how to make Magnolia better, and tell city hall we really are a part of Seattle.

Interbay just got one more Gift

Wow. A Real Tex Mex Restaurant in Interbay, the Death Valley of businesses in Seattle it seems. Excellent Chickens, they do sandwiches too. A chef finally got his dream up and running. You should be part of that dream. Understand you have to negotiate to get a really spicy sandwich.... Sigh. The Fightin' Cock Roaster 2809 Thorndyke Ave W Seattle WA 98199 206 282 2663 Last rave- fast food, too. Even custom orders....

Foiled Break-in at W. Barrett and 27th Ave W

Last Tuesday 9/23,10 AM at 27th Ave W and W. Barrett St., a twenty something Hispanic man with a ponytail successful opened our neighbor's kitchen window. The noise woke up their 24 year old daughter in the basement who discovered him about half-way into their house, and by repeatedly screaming, she scared him back out of the window where he jumped into a car driven by another man. The daughter didn't get a good look at the car or license number, but the police came and dusted for fingerprints.… Continue

Citizens Group Forms Calls for 180-Day Moratorium on Ft. Lawton Process

SEATTLE – May 20, 2008 – The Sustainable Neighborhoods Coalition (SNC), a newly formed citizens group, today called for a 180-day moratorium on the current approach to determining how or if Ft. Lawton will be developed. During the moratorium, the City must consult the existing Discovery Park Master Plan, develop its own Master Plan for the re-use of Ft. Lawton and share it with the citizens of Seattle. The plan must be based on the City’s prior written commitments to “create an open space park… Continue

"America Freestyle Alterations" was robbed on 1/2/08 night.

Our store is located on 3121 West Government Way. The window was broken by the stone, and most of the expensive clothng and accessories were stolen. We opened our bisiness just a year ago. There were no witnesses. The police came, and gave the case number, but never taken the fingerprints from the stone, which was left in the store. Are they gonna make them feel they can do that again? What are they doing to protect the businesses ? We already taking some steps to increase the security; however,… Continue

Loitering incident(s) on 28th Place West

I probably shouldn't make a big deal of this but from time to time we notice people using our street as a party area. In the morning, we find glass bottles disgarded on the grass sidewalk strip at the top of the street. One night last week a car with two young men pulled up and parked directly across the street so they could smoke something. We kept an eye on them for a little while and since they were just smoking and not getting out of the car, we didn' t do anything. I still feel a bit une…
